Handmade Betta Fish Rug – A Splash of Art for Your Space

Dive into the colorful world of Scallywag’s Fish Bowl with our handmade Betta Fish Rug—a one-of-a-kind piece inspired by the graceful movement and bold beauty of betta fish. This rug isn’t just décor—it’s a love letter to aquatic life, crafted by hand with care, creativity, and a deep appreciation for underwater elegance.

Each rug starts as an idea in my sketchbook and comes to life through hand-tufting, using vibrant yarns to capture the flowing fins, rich colors, and peaceful vibe of a betta in its natural habitat. The result? A large, eye-catching design that feels both lively and serene—like a little piece of the aquarium world brought into your home.

Made with high-quality materials, this rug is soft underfoot yet tough enough for everyday use. It’s perfect as a statement piece in a living room, a cozy accent in a bedroom, or a bold touch in a fish-themed office or studio. Wherever it lands, it’s sure to start conversations and spark a little joy.

At Scallywag’s Fish Bowl, I create each rug myself—no mass production, just true artisan work inspired by my love for fish and design. This Betta Fish Rug is part of that story, and I hope it brings as much happiness to your space as it did to make it.

Bring home the magic of aquatic life with a rug that’s as unique as the fish that inspired it.

Starting with an idea, Crys turns to her Surface Pro to sketch out the shapes and colors.

A projector is used to cast the image for tracing on the cloth.

Acrylic yarn is stitched into the cloth, and the rug starts to take shape.
